Round 1

  • 3 ch  (start every row with 3 ch , these 3 stitches represent the 1st dc in the row),
  • 11 dc in magic circle
  • 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round

We get 12 sts

Round 2

 

  • (inc)x12
  • 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round

We get 24 sts

Round 3

  • ( dc, inc) x 12
  • 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round

We get 36 sts

Round 4

 

  • (dc 1, dc 1, inc) x 12
  • 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round.

We get 48 sts

Round 5

  • (dc 1, dc 1, dc, inc) x 12
  • 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round

We get 60 sts

Round 6

  • ch 1 (represents the 1st dc on 6th row)
  • place a marker
  • dc x 59
  • 1 sl st in the chain stitch at the beginning of the round

We get 60 sts

Round 7

  • ch 1 (represents 1st of the 7th round)
  • and do the entire row in crab stitch
  • 1 sl st in the ch st of the beginning of the round

Cut the thread and pull it in

If you want a larger cotton, you just have to continue increasing after row 5, each time working a new dc before the increase:

Row 6: (dc 1, dc 1, dc,dc 1, inc) x 12
