- 3 ch (start every row with 3 ch , these 3 stitches represent the 1st dc in the row),
- 11 dc in magic circle
- 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round
We get 12 sts
Round 2
- (inc)x12
- 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round
We get 24 sts
Round 3
- ( dc, inc) x 12
- 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round
We get 36 sts
Round 4
- (dc 1, dc 1, inc) x 12
- 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round.
We get 48 sts
Round 5
- (dc 1, dc 1, dc, inc) x 12
- 1 sl st in the 3rd ch of the beginning of the row to close the round
We get 60 sts
Round 6
- ch 1 (represents the 1st dc on 6th row)
- place a marker
- dc x 59
- 1 sl st in the chain stitch at the beginning of the round
We get 60 sts
Round 7
- ch 1 (represents 1st of the 7th round)
- and do the entire row in crab stitch
- 1 sl st in the ch st of the beginning of the round

If you want a larger cotton, you just have to continue increasing after row 5, each time working a new dc before the increase:
